10 Teenagers Street Fight

TEMECULA – A 15-year-old girl was reported to be on life-support Wednesday following a fight in Temecula involving some 10 teenagers.

Temecula police discovered the victim – unresponsive and without a pulse – at Wabash and Cupeno lanes at 4:37 p.m. Tuesday, said Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Officers immediately began CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived, Valenzuela said. Once hospitalized, she was placed on a respirator, the Press-Enterprise reported.

While investigators were still trying to sort out what had happened, it appears someone hit the girl, knocking her to the ground and causing her head to strike the pavement, Temecula Police Chief Jerry Williams told the newspaper.

Several people believed to have been involved in the fight were detained, Valenzuela said.
